Sometimes it can look pink, close up pictures I've seen of climbers on the the rock reveal it is a light yellow colour, but in certain light it appears to develop a pink tinge. I feel its important to get the shadows in the right place-otherwise it just wouldn't be recognised as a North face or "the wall of shadows" as it is called. I've looked at other peoples photographs and its amazing how the face changes from season to season, sometimes its plastered in snow and other times quite bare.
